Library is a great hub for our beginner readers where we aim to support the development of a love for reading in our young learners. Each class has a timetabled session which is led by our library teacher.
The library provides many children with their first chance to use and enjoy a library. The school library is a welcoming place for study and reading. The school library is to support the
students and teachers by providing access to current, adequate and appropriate information resources. It is also to ensure that all the students, teachers and staff are effectively using the ideas and information. The library encourages the love of reading and development of student’s independent learning skills. During our weekly library times, children have the opportunity to select from a range of activities linked to developing their reading skills. These activities are carefully
planned by the library teacher and supported by the class teacher to ensure that it meets the needs of each student. The library has a range of leveled readers, appropriate non-fiction texts, phonics activities, word games, all of which are used
to further reinforce their developing reading skills.
